adrenal fatigue

Has anyone here used Dr. Teitlebaum or Dr Wilson's protocol for adrenal fatigue and had sucess?? I have read their books which are similar . I know it can take quite some time to see results too. ( I am also hypothyroid)
Who has had experience with any one or both protocols?? Thank you for any info.

Latest update, that initial boost of energy I got with increasing HRT was shot-lived, about 3 or 4 days.  The fatique returned but not as bad as before.  I also take levoxyl for hypothyroidism.  I take armour off and on, have side effects with it, does interrupt my sleep-BUT I feel like a new woman on it!  I have sustained energy thru the day.  But I stop it when I can't fall asleep at night.  Your hypothyroidism may be contributing to the fatigue.  If you are on meds, maybe get that checked again to see if you are on the right dose or right medication.
Cheers!  Laura

Hi Laura,
Thanks for the info. I too am perimenopausal... and wow this is hard!
How long til you felt better from the adrenal fatigue/? The supplements cause insomnia with me, so naturopath has now recommended just licrorice for now. I think with continued rest and healthy diet I can conquer this beast.
I am taking bioidentical progesterone and it has helped with the insomnia. My fatigue has gotten better since I sleep better now. But I still wake up alot at night, and need that afternoon "rest' to make it through the day. And the anxiety part is the WORST... happens as I get tired or stressed..I have no tolerance for stress. And 3 years ago was  fine- working two jobs, going , going ... everywhere with nada problems.
Any words of inspiration are greatly appreciated. Thanks and God bless!

I've followed Dr Wilson's diet and used similar supplements prescribed by my doc.  I know it takes a while to see a difference.  Probably what has helped me regain some of my sleep (I have insomnia due to adrenal fatique) and energy back was a doubling of my bio-identical hormones.  I think my doc had me on a low level for a while until she rechecked them with a saliva test for estrogen, progesterone, testosterone and cortisol.  All were still very low.  She upped my HRT and boy, I've noticed an improvement in my sleep and energy levels.  I developed hashimoto's thyroidiitis a few years ago when perimenopausal. As soon as I went menopausal my symptoms got so bad I had to quit work and was then diagnosed with adrenal fatigue.  The bio-HRT hormones impact on adrenals giving them ability to produce hormones like cortisol.  It's been dramatic for me.  I just increased dosage as of last Thursday.  Hopefully things will continue to improve.
