Afternoon    18   Norm:  3-8

DHEA  (total) 13  Norm: 3-10
SIgA            11   Norm:  25-60
Gliadin  positive 21 Norm: 15

Please help me figure out what this all means

I had a blood test done for celiac's and the doc. said he didn't see anything that concerned him. Also tested for h pylori and the same comment was made.

Thank you for replying.

I'd also visit a gastro. A positive celiac test can occur for things like crohns which you mentioned. An intestinal biopsy will let you know. I'd also look into vitamin testing because malabsoption can occur with celiac and crohns which may explain some symptoms.

I'm waiting for my celiac test right now because I've already been diagnosed with multiple vitamin deficiencies.

Thanks Norma, Stella and Laura, I'm hoping I can find a good endo here in Canada. Not sure if I need a referral or not. I have been reading up on both addison's and cushing's , looks like they are both hard to diagnose. I would be sooo happy if 90% of my problems could be solved. I will keep you all informed with my findings.

Thanks and take care

I think you need to push for further testing and specifically the focus on the adrenals. The adrenals can cause an aray of problems for people and can whack out many other components of the endocrine glands.

You may want to have additional thyroid testing done too.

I think the SlgA test might be the one used to test for H-Pylori..... The Gliadin test was for celiac and you tested positive.

No, I'm not sleeping at night.. I normally fall asleep between 4-6 AM and feel tired all day, mornings I feel sluggish and feel I need a nap. I feel dizzy and have severe anxiety and panic disorder. My testing was done by a naturopath, my dr. does not know yet. I will be seeing him soon. I worry about telling my dr. not sure if he will blame the anxiety, this has happned so often in the past.
I have an appt. for a CT scan in Dec. I'm assuming he's doing it because I have pretty bad menstrual cramps and gastrointestinal complaints. I was also diagnosed with crohn's disease.

I sure hope if this is something like addison's or cushing's that the CT scan will show something. I'm also waiting for blood test results on h-pylori and celiac's. If you guys know the best way to find out more from the dr. (tests, questions....) I'd love to hear back from you.

Thank you so much.

You need testing done for both Addisons and Cushings. There is a disorder called Cyclical Cushings which is where your adrenals are exhausted, but you have a tumor (adenoma) which produces cortisol. So at times you are producing too much cortisol and at other times you are normal or depleted. These tumors can be found on the pituitary gland, adrenals, lugs, pancreas, etc.  These tumors are found by an MRI.
Your dhea is too high which is produced by the adrenals as well.
The Gliadin antibody test is for Celiac disease....you tested positive. The SlgA is another type of antibody test for some type of protein...not sure about this one. If aI were you I would get to an endo right away for further workup with blood serum and the adrenal tests. It is a process and will take a little time as the adrenal testing is done in order of pecking required.
How are you getting out of bed in the morning? As Stella asked....are you able to sleep at night?

It looks like your tests are totally backwards to the way the adrenals are to be functioning normally.

A 3 @ 8:00 is terribly low.

Are you sleeping at night? What are your symptoms?

I don't know enough about all this yet - but I am hoping the doctor you have may consider further testing for you on Addison's Disease.
