umexplainable weight loss

For the past 6 months I have been losing weight 40 pounds so far.
Other symptoms:
Fatigue, loss of appetite, Low blood pressure (previously was high).
Blood tests are all negative, as is chest xray ( I smoke), gut ultrasound, HIV aids test.
I spend a good deal of time in 3rd world countries, could I have a tropical disease or parasites? Any help is appreciated,

Hi
There're medical site online which explains what test result means....   just type in your serach box  'TRANSLATION OF BLOOD TEST RESULTS'.

40LBS weight loss is too much ....it could be lots of things, adrenal and thryoid being two of the probable causes...it could also mean other things.

Wishing you the best

It could be adrenal - the low blood pressure and fatigue sound suspicious for that.

Blood tests for that are cortisol, ACTH, dhea sulfate, renin, aldosterone and a stim test for the adrenals. Were those the tests you had? Cortisol tests can be blood, urine or saliva.

The parasitic diseases need to be cleared by a gastric doctor or a infectious disease doc - which is sounds like you saw...

Get copies of what was run - check it out - docs sometimes overlook things.

Hello~I can see you have had a lot of tests run. Did they run any blood work for the adrenal glands or thyroid? These two glands can certainly cause you to have the above symptoms.

I would think if you caught any tropical parasitic disease, the blood work should have shown it.
