When can you tell the difference between dementia and Alzheimer's?

Hi, it's very very hard to tell a difference, my mom started with  dementia and ended with alz, but that being said , it was all the same .   So very hard to tell and it all ends the same way

Alzheimer's is a form of dementia.  Dementia can be caused by many things like other diseases such as parkinson's, hormones, oxygen deprivation (from low lung function or carotid blockages) or other.

Most have slightly different progressions.
