sorry ya are going threw this, i have looked up the drug and this is some of the side effects ....Selegiline may cause dizziness, light-headedness, or fainting; alcohol, hot weather, exercise, or fever may increase these effects. To prevent them, sit up or stand slowly, especially in the morning. Sit or lie down at the first sign of any of these effects. my mother took this med so can't really say a lot about it, it also says she needs to have her blood labs done often to make sure alls ok. it also says it makes your tummy hurt so that could be some of her weight loss. and yes it says can make you tired as to where your talking one min and a sleep the next. i would talk to her dr about your concerns, if you ever need to talk i am here . ,,,,,,,Heart
Hi,
Thank you for the reply. I have talked with my mother for her symptoms and asked for 2nd opinion. I may not get a chance to speak with the doctor without being in the country. But just to answer your questions: We don't Alz history. NOr she is repeating herself. Other classical signs of Alz/ Parkinson's are not present and frankly she went with stomach issues to this doctor. Its very odd to get this prescription.
Lastly, she does tend to forget things, but it was never even brought up with doctor.
so she's not had any test for Alz, i would call her Dr and try to talk to him as to why he is treating her with this med, i do not know the drug so i can't give advice about it, best person would be her dr , you can also look up on net and see what all it is used for . does alz run in your family, is your mom repeating herself, and i would ask the dr what makes him think she could be getting or has alz. please keep in touch.
