Do I have Alzheimers disease?

I am 15 years old and I know I have great memory and even orientation but lately I keep forgetting stuff almost instantly. To give you an example of my latest incident: My cousins cousin introduced himself to me but after he told me his name a very short time later I completely forgot it. I keep forgeting things like this and I forget them very shortly after I hear or see them. This didnt happen to me before. I also forget other things like for example I put my phone somewhere only to be looking for it seconds later but that happens to a lot of people as far as i know. I dont know. Am I just distracted or do I have a disease?

Hi, hope your having a good week.   i hate that at your age your worrying about this, its very common to forget things, and as a tennagers you are so busying going in all different directions that its so easy to forget stuff. i know i did as a child, and the more you worry about have alz, the more you will forget .

does it run in your family?   i would say just enjoy your life , dont worry about this, keep your mind busy, eat well and get lots execrise which i am sure you do being so young. the better you take care of yourself now the better you will be as you age.

hope you can relax and not stress this, you have a long time before you should worry about this...... Heart

Hi Saj0.

Try practicing mindfullness ( mindfulness: bringing one’s COMPLETE attention to the present experience on a moment-to-moment basis)  for a few weeks, regarding everything you do and experience.
Your life will change for the better in all respects!
Sticking to it may be difficult at first, as new habits to form take an average of 7 weeks, however the payoff is bigger than what I can possibly describe here!

You may also consider the suggestions form rumpled.
Not Alzheimer's Disease, I wouldn't worry about that.

Best wishes and please keep us posted!

It is more likely that you are distracted.

If you are worried, why not ask your mom or dad to take you to your regular doctor? Even in older people, the problem can be vitamin D, Vitamin Bs, thyroid or other issues - so it may be that you may have a hormonal or vitamin issue - something simple easily fixed or just distraction.

A lot of people forget names, keys etc! I know I have to put my keys and purse in the same place when I come home and make that a habit. For names, say it back to the other person right away and say the name a few times. As everyone forgets - it is not really a huge issue to ask again!

I hope you post again after you see your doctor.
