I have recently been diagnosed with a Renal Artery Aneurysm, I know they are rare. I had a very brief and very vague appointment with my consultant, he was a man of few words and he told me very little other than that it is small, life threatening and close to my kidney. He then said that I would probably lose a kidney if I have surgery and told me to go back in one year. I'm going to discuss it with my GP in a couple of weeks. I have already been to see her but she hadn't received the consultant's letter. She couldn't understand why I had been told that it is life threatening and then not to go back for a year. Is this normal practice?
