Cat acting extremely tired and weak?

My one friend (who doesn't have a computer) is getting ready to take his cat to the vet for appointment in a few days but wants to possibly get some answers before the appointment.

He randomly noticed that his cat who he thought was just probably pregnant, suddenly started sleeping constantly and not eating a whole lot.

She has always had strange looking bugs that attach to her neck area that are grey and sometimes black that have kinda a fingernail with legs kinda look to them. Every time he sees said bugs he immediately removes them and puts antibiotic on.

those are ticks...the vet will recommend a anti-parasitic...I am not sure what is available in the US versus up here in Canada but either spot-on or advantage multi, or revolution. These products also help with heartworm and fleas and mites.
Good luck,
Dr. Cliff
