need an opinion

my cat has a large tumor on his leg! Is it normal for the tumor to be filled with alot of fluid? the leg was drained about 2 weeks ago and about 130 cc was taken out!  it seems like the fluids is back and the leg is huge? is there anything i can do and have the cat take to reduce the swelling in the leg ?

yes they did analyze it and it was neg for cancer infection ect!  Like i previously mentioned  the vet told me that there is a tumor  wrapped around his hip which is pressing on his lymph node so the lymph nodes are not functioning the way it suppose to so the fluid is not drainging but filling up the leg!   is there a way i might be able to drain it myself since it fills up pretty quickly and it expensive to have it drain every week!  I have all the supplies and i now everything about sterile techniques i have worked in the or for 5 years now! if not what do you suggest i should do?  i want to put him on steroids but the problem with that is that if i do and i want to do a biopsy later on ( cant afford it right now)  it might give me false results according to my vet!

Has the fluid been analysed?  It is really essential to discover where the fluid is coming from and what it is composed of.  Could you please post again with this information so that I can help you further?

130 cc is about 1/2 cup. That's quite a bit. The last time you had it drained, did the vet test the fluid or explain what may have caused it? That would be good to know. Sounds like you'll have to take him back for draining again. Ask the doctor about cause and how to control/stop this cycle.
