I would like to emphasize that the blood mentioned here is minimal or isolated spots. Thank you in advance for your kind help.
In the following cases the blood has been restricted to spots of blood.
I got my dog. I got her last Tuesday post spaying op. Only one thing, there has been some blood spots on the floor after peeing or dookies. The dog was jumping all over the place for happiness when I got her, and I am hoping that doesn't have something to do with it. I called the dog clinic two days after I picked her up stating that I had noticed some pinkish urine the first day and a blood spot about the size of a quarter with the paw print on it the next day. The lady at the clinic said that it was probably nothing, and that some blood post op might be expected. I watched carefully the next day for blood, and there was none. However, this morning I noticed beside the urine puddle, a small, dry, spot of what appears to be frank blood. The clinic is closed so I'll call Monday. Someone that works at the shelter said, today, that it could be "spotting" "having her period," but that doesn't make sense because she was spayed, and I thought, after spaying there would be no period.
The dog urinated again, just a few minutes ago, and I do not see any sign of blood. The incision site looks OK to me, a lay person. I gently covered it with a little triple antibiotic ointment, seeing that the dog likes to crawl all over the floor.
