puppy food guarding

Hi.I have a 2yr old westie X jack russelllmale who is as soft as can be. We have had a westie X cairn ***** of 6 mths since she was 8wks. They play, sleep and walk together fine but if there is food involved the puppy gets very aggressive towards the other dog. We have always fed them in seperate rooms due to the different diets. This is the only time the ***** shows any signs of aggression. It occurs when they have treats ect and she has not finished eating. What would you advise as we want to stop this now before it gets into a bigger problem. I might add that it has only happened about 2/3 times as we are very careful and watchful. Many Thanks Dawn(uk)

Don't worry about the "word" problem dalip - we know how you meant it.  :-)  Actually, I think this site has an automatic bleeper on certain words so it doesn't take context into the equation.
