Help--What is Going On?

I have history of autoimmune diseases in my family and I have Hashimoto's as well.  I have had arthritis (I call it that) since a young age.  My knees hurt so bad from the time I was young and it never went away.  My parents called it growing pains. Fast forward to now.........I have the Hash's and I have joint pain and tenderness. I went to a rhem. about 2-3 years ago and he said I did not have RA, etc.  Lately, I have ALOT of muscle pain in my back and I am stiff all over, especially when I get out of bed. My hands and feet are stiff and it feels like I am walking on pins and needles.  They also feel weak.  Can anyone offer advice or help?

I tested negative for RA 2 years ago when I 1st started having symptoms. I tested positive last month. Your rheumatoid factor does change. If you're really in a flare, go get tested. You should know for sure if you have it or not. Good luck to you & keep us updated!

I agree with TrudieC that you need to see a new rheummy.  There are over 100 different types of arthritis.  They need to investigate this further to identify what is going on.  Be certain that, if you are diagnosed with fibromyalgia, that they have investigated all other options first as it can only be diagnosed by exclusion.  Do not be afraid to go to several different rheummys if you have to until you get to one who is thorough, works well with you and is interested in your case.  We will be here for you as you go through the process.

You should get checked out again.  It sounds a lot like fibromyalgia.
