When I had my first child I was nervous I wouldn't be able to recognize when I was having contractions. But you will know once they start!!

Thanks for using the forum.

Many first time mothers are concerned that they will not recognize the contractions when they start.Contractions are a tightening of the uterine muscles to help push out a baby. They often start by feeling like just that a tightening. The abdomen will feel firm and tight. Contractions related to true labor will become regular and increase in intensity as labor progresses.

I hope this helps
