Thanks for using the forum.

The high levels of progesterone while you are pregnant cause gas and bloating. The progesterone relaxes the smooth muscle tissue of the digestive tract, slowing digestion and leading to gas and bloating.

There are a few things that you can do to help with the bloating. Avoid large meals, eat smaller more frequent meals. Avoid carbonated drinks. Finally, exercise, like walking, will help speed digestion.

Congratulations on your pregnancy! Hope this helps.

When I was 5 weeks I was so bloated it looked like I was 15 weeks. Over the next 3 weeks it went down.  Hope that helps.
