Medical question for school

I am in a RT class and am learning all types of drug names.  One is N-acetylcysteine and my teacher wants us to find out what the N stands for.  Can you help me?  I can't find it anywhere on the internet.

Thanks,
Sandra

Hey,

I took a look at the the molecular structure in DrugBank & it seems that Acetylcysteine & N-Acetylcysteine are synonyms for one another. It seems that the "N" mearly denotes that a NITROGEN group is the joining link between an acetyl & a cysteine functional groups.

Hope this helps,
