Tenex and children

I believe that my child has a behavorial issue.  She has emotional outbursts and loses her temper really easy.  If she gets upset, there is nothing we can do to snap her out of it.  Sometimes I do something to distract her and she forgets that she was mad.  She says mean things to her sister and grandmother.  If she gets in the "zone"  nothing I tell her phases her.  She will not follow directions and does not care if she gets spanked.  Whenshe is not in the "zone"  she is very loving and very delightful.  She has no learning issues.  She attends a gifted and talented school.

A friend of mine who is a clinical pshycologist recommended Tenex.  However, in reading the caution section it says not to take if taking medication for allergies, asthma or cough.  She takes these types of medication regularly.  Would this medication not be appropriate for her.  What about all the side effects...lowered blood rate, difficulty breathing? She has difficulty breathing as it is.  Please advise.

We love Tenex - it was the only thing that worked.  My son takes Zyrtec for his allergies.

if your child is taking singulair, it might be worth a trip to the website www.medications.com.  there are many stories of families whose children suffered many behavior problems from taking this medication.  i hope this helps you.

Do you think Asperger's is the cause of her behaviorial issues?  I would try to find out what is going on with your daugther before giving her drugs.
