mystery middle back pain

I have been having treatment for low back pain for over a month I had this pain for afew years and since my physio has been useing accupunture on me I have for the first time ever had such relief and is almost back to normal except this one  time  the pyhsio put needles in my muscles by my shoulder blades  as I was quite stiff their. Since then I wake ever night early hours with this horrible muscle pain across the middle of my back and the longer I lie there the worse I get and it makes me feel sick. I just can't lie on any side its horrible. But when I get up it wears off and I'm fine the rest of the day. Please help as nothing is working no exercises or painkillers and I need my sleep too.

Hi there!

Well, without a clinical evaluation it would be difficult to comment on the situation. Possible cause of your symptoms that may need to be considered include injuries, inflammation, muscle spasm, neurological causes etc. I would suggest getting this evaluated by an orthopedician for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate management.
Hope this is helpful.

Take care!

thanks for replying, but thought I'd let you no I have been having accupunture on my low back and shoulder muscles area which this has finished now, and this tight pain came on during treatment and was advised to see the doctor to make sure that there are no underlying problems. I have now seen a doctor and he gave me a very good answer that makes every sense to what has been happening to me. He said that I have been getting cramp in my muscles across the middle of my back and it cramps up while i sleep in bed thus waking with this tight pain. He gave me some Naproxen this helped but as its an anti-inflammortary I have tobe carefull and take gaviscon tabs. BUT after 3 days I was took for the worse and it has not suited me and made me very sick and my body rejected it. So now I am back to square one and have nothing to stip the cramps in my back as I was told I cannot take any more of those type of drugs. Do you have any suggestions?
