Alcohol induced collarbone pain

When I drink alcohol I get a sharp achy pain in my right collarbone, it also spreads done my arm and hurts centrally its under my ribs. I havnt always had this pain from alcohol, it developed when I was about 18 (now 21). I know the obvious solution is to not drink ( which I don't often anymore) but I'm just worried about what the reason for it happening is. The pain generally lasts for about half an hour and quite severe (brings me close to tears) I am also usually sick and this often helps the pain. Thanks on advance :)

Hi there!

This could occur due to gastric irritation from the alcohol and associated inflammation/ mucosal damage, with referred pain to other regions. To avoid the symptoms or further worsening, it is advised to limit the alcohol intake and avoid drinking on an empty stomach.
Hope this is helpful.

Take care!
