Take a consultation from good chiropractor. He will help you surely.
I was wondering if someone could help me out. I suffer from anxiety and depression. I was sick for about four months laying in bed getting up here and their. I have now developed a upper and lower back pain. I also have been experiencing pain from my butt that shoots down to my legs. I forgot to mention I started developing a hypochondria for myself. I am wondering if this could be cancer? I am super worried and I don't have insurance.
Congratulations on the baby on the way!
I also suffered from back pain with sciatica while I was pregnant with my son six years ago. I managed my pain with Tylenol w/ Codeine. I had discussed the risks and benefits with both my primary care physician and OB/GYN. I delivered a healthy baby boy. There are many other women that have posted their experiences with pregnancy and pain along with treatments/medications that were successful for management of their chronic pain. Just search within med help for "pain and pregnancy" and posts should pop up that may have additional information in which you are looking for. I encourage you to make an appointment with your PCP and OB/GYN to discuss treatment options for your pain.
Were you suffering from low back pain before becoming pregnant or is this new pain due to the pregnancy? If this is a new pain from pregnancy I wouldn't get started on any prescription pain medicine, especially if you weren't taking it prior to pregnancy. You only have 5 weeks to go so I would instead try the following:
To help align your spine while you sleep, sleep on your side with your knees bent and a pillow between your legs. Also, use a separate pillow to rest your arm that is on top on. Only place your head/neck on the third pillow, not your shoulders. Your shoulders should tuck nicely underneath the pillow. The worst position to sleep in while you are pregnant is on your back as the weight of the baby presses into your spine. Additionally, you can try to take a warm bath (not hot!), OTC tylenol or ibuprofen, and have your partner massage the areas that hurt. There are also massage therapists that will do massages for pregnant women. They will massage your back while you are laying on your side versus on your stomach.
I hope you find relief soon.
