Thank you all for your well wishes. I also wish everyone in pain and facing the unknown courage. I pray that we all can find help from our physicians and continued support from our families. My family has been great and I am grateful for all they do for me. Best wishes to all and I will let you know how things go on Wed.
Hi,here,
How are you doing, everything getting better?
Sorry to your suffering,as you know,It is a common misconception that neck pain always stems from the pressure of a slipped disc or a trapped nerve. This is misleading, the cause of neck pain is also inflammation stimulating nerves, causing the pain signal.so after fusion, perhaps patient still suffer from soft tissue injury (chronic pain),it can lead to "repeat pain".it will take time to heal...Good luck!
Unfortunately I am still the same. My pain is believed to be due to the added motion of the upper discs. I am still treating, but have been given no hope of a full recovery. The pain doctor and neurosurgeon seem to be in agreement on this fact. I will wait and see, but being as things have gotten worse rather than better, I am not optimistic. Thank you for your well wishes.
Had the exact same fusions you did in Dec and was back in in March having bulging disc repaired...didnt even make it six months...oh well.............seem to be doing good now. Maybe I just got the enevetable out of the way early...Good luck
i had an operation in the 'C' section of my neck 14 months ago, an MRI showed before the op i had a crushed spinal canal from C2-T7. i had 3 discs removed from the 'C' section and replaced with bone taken from my hip, which had been made into a resin and then 2, 3 sided blocks if titanium held with 10 screws to hold and line everything back in place. unfortunately it releived some of the symptons i was getting but has caused others. my consultant says there is nothing they can do for me except pain management. i am slowly losing feeling down my left side and now numbness down my right side to. but to add to all this i have a lumbar problem and a cyst deep in the spine which cannot be gotten to, as i live in the uk and our health system here (NHS) is going downhill fast, my GP (general practioner) says he has to follow protocols etc. so i am left in constant horrendous pain which has been going on for god knows how many years before this operation, and even strong painkillers do not even touch it anymore. i am in constant fear of ending up paralized. i totally sympathize with you all in your individual situations and hope some of you get the relief you are seeking.
