Lower back pain only in morning

I wake every morning with horrible pain in lower back (kidney area) that radiates to the front of stomach (rib area).  I have had battery of tests and found nothing.  I am only able to sleep 5-6 hours before pain wakes me, also unable to take a deep breath until I get out of bed (very painful just to roll over), once I stand and get out of bed the pain almost immediately starts to ease.  After about 20 minutes of walking around and after first morning void, pain disappears for remainder of day.
Could this be a pinched nerve or nerve compression?  Had MRI of lower lumbar which showed normal...chiro recommends stretching excersises, something serious has to be wrong with this kind of pain.  If anyone has any ideas it would be GREATLY appreciated!!

I've had same back pain for 20 years now, but it seems maybe it goes away when I'm skinnier than when I gain a few pounds.  However, I can get 8 hours of sleep, but if I go over, it's awful.  But I used to could sleep 10 or 12 hours on the weekend, that's when I noticed this awful thing and when I'd get sick in bed too.  This week I have a cold and tried to go to bed early last night, cuz I could feel a sneezy one coming on.  7pm in bed.  woke up at 1:30 am... watched some tv, in bed, went back to sleep and woke at 7;30 ouch!!!!  It hurt soooo bad!  And I need to stay in bed to kick this icky cold.  Got up, went to potty, and this time, pain lingered a lil longer than usual.

Mine is below my waist, but I'll pay attention to see if it's ever above the waist.  I sleep in fetal position always, and sometimes I get that pain down the side of my leg too... I think also, when I gain a few lbs.  anyone notice whether it has to do with slight weight gain?  I thought it was kidneys too, but just looked at a map, they are above the waist... so what is that below my waist that is paining me so?  I can't believe there is not an instant remedy here online since everyone is having this pain.

Well, the one new remedy I just learned about which cures just everything, actually it's an ancient remedy, is cold pressed castor oil.  You use it on your skin topically and I'll bet it will be the cure for this too.  So far it's cured my swollen lymph glands, my bursitis in elbow, my eye when I took out a crusty battery and that spring sprung crusty old what?  battery acid ? in my eye?  I put castor oil in it and it felt so good I put it in both eyes!  Don't believe me?  Look it up!, It even cures cataracts!  Also it cured a pulled muscle in my back, with a heat pack.  But Since I usually only get 8 hrs sleep, I haven't had this back pain much lately.  but I'll try putting my castor oil on the back below my waist and see if I can get some more relief here too.

Castor oil pulls out any toxins that are causing inflammation which is what causes the pain.  Look it up.  Castor oil cures everything, acne, arthritis, snake bites, and I use it on my pets.  My cat got a cloudy eye and I've been putting it in her eye and it's turning into a scale on her eye, and it's moving towards the outside and underneath it looks like her eye is healthy again.  My puppy got bit by what my neighbor described as a rattle snake and I gave her normal castor oil to take internally and put cold pressed castor oil right on the wound.  It takes a few days to keep repeating the treatment to get all the toxins gone but it does work.  Her breath smelled really bad for about a week but she didn't die and she got well because of that amazing Palma Christi.  They've used it for centuries and it cures so much they say it's like the palm of Christ.

You can also use the kind you take internally on top of your skin.  It works just like the cold pressed, but you will go potty a little more than you usually do, but I used that kind you get at CVS for a year before I got any at my health food store that was Cold Pressed.  So they both work!  Also, my other puppy got sick and wouldn't eat for 2 days, and I had a puppy, years ago that did that and after not eating for 3 days it died.  I started giving this puppy castor oil internally and in 3 days it was well.

Whatever is wrong with you or your pet, take castor oil and it will pull the toxins our and send it out of you.  Only don't take it internally unless you are about to get in bed, otherwise it will hurt your stomach bad.  I started cramping and had to get in bed when I tried to take it during the day..  If you're in bed it will make you sleep good, and in the morning you will have your normal poop and you will feel fine.

Or if it's a joint or knee pain or whatever, rub it on it for a few days and it will be gone.... for good!  When giving it to a dog, just rub it on his tummy and he will lick it off and love it every time you come near him with it.  He'll roll over and let you pour it on him.  I need to take some tonight, last night I took black elderberry lozenges instead of castor oil and today I'm still sneezy...

Oh, and if you sleep light and want to sleep deeper just put a drop of it on your eyelid before going to sleep.  The only thing I learned NOT to put castor oil on is a stye!  It made mine worse. and if you're prone to get styes  and you use it in or near your eye lid it may make you get one,.. but there's a cure for that too... because finally I learned that putting a warm tea bag on the sty on your eye will make it go away.  It may take three days of warm tea bags on the eye, but it will be gone for good.  I drink a cup of tea every day anyway, and this means I can use that tea bag again before throwing it away, while enjoying a nice soothing warm cup of tea!  Oh the wonders of nature.... and the amazing healing of God's great and magnificent creation, Earth!  We are miraculously made to work hand in hand with what is given to us on this sweet planet earth!

I've had this for ten years. Wake up in back/groin/kidney agony, no comfortable position and it would go away 15-20 minutes after I got up. No one could tell me what it was. On a recent trip to Maui a person saw how I got up and how I was walking and suggested it was my PSOAS muscles (hip flexors) and sent me to a physical therapist. I received diathermy, ultrasound and electrical stimulation (pulse waves). Two treatments have relived 80% of this pain. I hear there are stretches on youtube as well. Relief in sight!

I've had it on and off for a while. It doesn't matter if I'm exercising or not. I have no problem at all during the day, only when I rest. It doesn't matter how or where I rest. I just found out there is something called Ankylosing Spondylitis. I do some strength training (pull ups, chin ups, push ups and some core training, no weight added. I will talk to my doctor about that, see if there is a way she can rule it out. But to all of you that seem to find no explanation, this is an option you should explore.

Hey Paco1975! I know it’s almost 10yrs later but I was wondering what your results ended up being. Fingers crossed it wasn’t anything dreadful! Thanks for sharing.

Ive been pain free for almost 10 months now since I started adding running to my daily cycling exercises. I am also doing Bootcamp which is pretty hectic with push ups and core and all sorts of exercises using body weight.  But all the relief started when I realised that the psoas was the problem as per my previous comments.  So instead of sitting in front of the computer and cycling most of my life, I have added more all round exercise. So I would say, for me, it was the psoas screaming to be stretched and reacting to being in a crunched position for most of my life!!

Two lemons and two limes, pulp and seeds too with a half a glass of water before bed. Let me know.

I've had the problem 5 yrs but since the lemons and limes I walk right down the stairs in the morning like I never had the problem, but when I stop with in a few days things start to tighten back up so hope this helps

That is exactly what is happening to me! going on a year now, but I have also narrowed it down to red meat, suger (such as ice cream) but not milk, and deep fried foods. I never thought of limiting my liquids, but I will do that! Thank-you, I do not feel so alone now!
