Need Advice/Direction...Please Assist

Hello everyone at Medhelp,

I'm very new, this being my first post. I'm 24/m/arkansas. I'm generally healthy with exceptions to some teeth problems (no, not drug use related). The hardest drugs ive ever done are marijuana (clean for 6 years) and alcohol (still have a few for social events). I have a few problems, some un-realted to this topic. I would like to discuss some back problems ive had for quite some time, that seem to worsen slowly. After seeing a chiro, he told me i have scoliosis. Oddly he really didnt seem to concerned. I have pain in my neck (around that upper most knobby bone at the base of the neck) and severe, and I MEAN SEVERE hip pain especially when lying down to sleep. I keep my girlfriend up and usually have to go downstairs so i dont disturb her with my seemingly constant tossing and turning. I'm uninsured (suprise suprise) and I do have a job and have always carried one. Now, I have yet to see a doctor as well, as in most cases its a matter of money (have to pay that rent!). I would like to know what questions you have to get more info about my condition as well as should I apply for medicaid, sadly i think the only thing stopping me is this stigma that comes with it. Thridly, I know they will give me something for pain, but having had vicodin which makes me very irritable after it starts to wear off and Oxycontin, which was so addictive it scarred me and I wont allow another doctor to pres it to me, what other options do i have in terms of pain management?

Thank you very much for your time and understanding,

Zach

I'm curious senittizach, what stigma do u think will be attached to being a medicaid user? I have medicaid which is what paid for my back surgery. Other than having some services reducedl I never really saw a change in the way I was treated overall. If u qualify, use the resourece:)
