stiff neck and tonsillitis symptoms after tonsillectomy

Please help, I'm desperate. I had tonsils remover in July last year when I was 19, a procedure that should have been done in half an hour but took 2 hours. I had a lot of bleeding during the operation so I had to be cauterized more times than usual. All this because the doctor forgot to ask if I was taking antibiotic (aparently they enlarge the veins or something). Recovery was awful, 1 week after I threw up and had all my scars open again and went to hospital once more. Now, nearly a year later and for the 3rd time already I had a stiff neck followed by high fever, sensible body, uncontrollable shaking and my throat hurts as if I have a tonsillitis. What can this be? Pls help.
