Non-Professional

I had herniated disk surgery for C4/C5, eight months ago.  I am still having stiffness and pain in my spine, and it feels like it is bulging outward.  I am also experiencing numbness and pain from the same area that I had it in, before the surgery, running down my left arm, and my ring finger and pinky finger stay numb.  I cannot sit or stand for long, and I have been out of work for over a year.  My doctor says I have nerve pain from nerve damage, and there's nothing more they can do.  I cannot live with this pain, and he says they will not give me anymore pain meds, so I've contacted a lawyer for help,  What can I do about my pain?

Hi, I have a neck problem too. I have neck pain just by sitting and tingling and numbness in my right arm. Anyways, I found this book on how to treat your back and neck by Robin McKenzie. It gives you exercises you can do. I started doing them my condition improved a lot. I still have problems but getting better. You should give it a try, let me know how you feel.

I would see an interventional pain specialist.  There are certain blocks and PT that they can do to help.

A couple questions. Were you sent to have another MRI due to the fact that you still had so much pain? Did you every consider going to see another Surgeon to get a 2nd opinion?

Who has been doing your prescribing, your Surgeon or your Primary? Has either of these Doctors offered to refer  you to Pain Management?
