I'm reading this for the 1st time and we're in 2018 - so it's for other folks with the same problem. I had exactly the same, including the pain in the thighs and numbness in the toes - the hospital did an MRI and determined it was sciatica. The physiotherapist (specializing in spinal and back problems) gave me exercises to strengthen my core muscles. The pain at night was reduced fairly quickly. One month later the hospital gave me a spinal injection (epidural) which is steroids, and that let me do some more physio for the core muscles. Since that time 6 months ago I am without any pain and can do everything apart from heavy lifting. I wish everyone well who has this problem - a killer pain, especially at night. I have a slight numbness in my foot from the compressed nerve in my spine - but only slight.
Hope you still read this-
I had sciatica for a year or so. Find out what is causing your disk to buldge. For me it was weight lifting, prolonged sitting and incorrect posture. Once I corrected these pain subsided. Stand up often and back extensitons helped. I ended up getting surgury a few years later due to a wrestling accident. I am hoping for a full recovery but have loss of function as of now. All I can do is rehab and pray now. Best of luck.
I have sciatica for 3 years now. With all my wisdom of doctor (so so many) and major searches on the net, the one statement I can make is that, 90% of doctors do not have a clue.
My best breakthrough for pain is a amino acid that all doctors know about but fail to tell anybody about. This amino acid is called GABA. After researching
GABA I went to my doctor(s) and guest what they ALL said, "Oh yeah that should help".
I started telling other people about GABA , then they would go to there doctors and get the same response.
GABA is an amino acid that is our bodies up until around the age of 40. Then its gone. Gamma-aminobutyric acid (usually abbreviated to GABA) is an inhibitory neurotransmitter found in the nervous systems of widely divergent species. It is the chief inhibitory neurotransmitter in the vertebrate central nervous system.It helps induce relaxation and sleep. It acts as a "balancer" for the brain where excitation of the brain is balanced with inhibition.
One of the basic subject that the medical flied fails to remember is , High School Biology. What makes up our bodies- Amino Acids, Proteins, and enzymes. What
heals our body- Amino Acids, Proteins, and enzymes. I can go on with other findings.
Before you take any supplement please check with your doctor first. GABA needs to be taken when your protein level is up.(after eating)
By the way GABE feeds your pituitary gland that (the most important gland in
your body) which then gives enzymes to feed your Adrenal Gland maintaining your body along the way, and so on and so on, basic high school biology.
The pituitary gland helps control the following body processes:
* Growth
* Blood pressure
* Some aspects of pregnancy and childbirth
* Breast milk production
* Sex organ functions in both women and men
* Thyroid gland function
* The conversion of food into energy (metabolism)
* Water and osmolarity regulation in the body
Sorry got off the path there abit . GABA is cheap they sell on Vitacost.com
My concoction for my sciatica is GABA, Turmeric(nsi),Immunolin(which is basically a high protein isolate) and DHEA ---- PAIN GONE in 30 seconds for most of the day.
Check with your doctor first before taking anything.
hello,
I could be wrong but, I know my doctor when I had my back fused he drilled around the nerve that causes scatica and the pain went away for a long time. It makes it so the nerve call get inflamed and it will not pinch and hurt. My pain management doctor said now a days this is an out paient surgery that only requires about a half inch to inch opening and you can be up and around with in days. Check into it and let me know what your doctor says.
