Hi Juan,  Hope you get well soon.
Use Ice packs with a thin towel keeping it around your neck for 10 min.
wraping a roll up towel around your neck for support.
Use warm pack with towel around your neck.
slowly move your head neck to the right and the to the left around 3 times a day.  Take your pain medicine when needed.  Take a walk for 5min. once a day and then increase the walk to twince a day gently swinging your arms.
sleep on your side with a rolled up towel in your pillow. take naps and rest off and on during the day.   I am recovering from a high impack car accident of neck strain and whip lash.  Feeling better from mild concussion and Post concussion symdrome.  Take care

Well a 1 1/2 ago I suffer and accident while a was training on the mountains. I fell from like 15 feet and land on my back. At that time I was using a military back pack. When I hit the ground I feel that my spine just pops, starting from my neck all the way to my tail bone. I end up with 2 bouging disc in my lower back and a degeneric disc in my neck. They have to do a fusion on my back, since then everytime I turn my neck in any dirrection my neck make a noise like a grinding noise and I been having pain everytime I move. I cant even use my helmet with out be in pain. Now my pain its been getting down to my shoulders and my finger tips start getting numb and I been suffer very strong headeck. My doctor say that he dont see nothing that can push me to do have a surgery. But in my MRI show the degeneric disk. But the pain its getting uncomfortable with the time. Can anybody have an idea what I can do. Please I need to know. Thanks.

I have had the exact condition for the past 3-4 years, but without any accompanying pain. I do have headaches, but not unusual for me.

In 1992 I had damage to the lower back and surgery to remove a gun bullet and believe that may be the cause. I have not discussed this with my doctor as yet.

Can the problem caused on the lower spinal column cause this? Can it be corrected without any further surgery? Can the same thing be happening on the lower joints but because they far from the ears it is not audible?

The only thing you can do is physical therapy. Strengthen the muscles supporting the neck. You can take anti inflammatory drugs or better yet foods. Sugar, saturated fats and processed foods cause inflammation.
You might want to get a neck mri to access the situation. You probably have some disk degeneration.

the cracking noise is probably the surface between the disc and the vertebra seperating much like pulling a suction cup of a pane of glass it probably indicates some kind of mechanical dysfunction and or possibly abnormal curveture of your neck.
