I had surgery on my neck Feb, 2010

by Patrick1444, Apr 15, 2010

I had surgery on my neck Feb, 2010.  The doctor used plates to correct the problem in my neck.  I tried to attach two photos of xrays that were taken of my neck about 10 days after surgery but there is no place to do that here.

If you could please goto to the section  "The Neurology Archive - MedHelp" on this web site and then scroll down to "SPINE" you will find two posts from me.

The title of the first post reads:         "Side view of fusion plate in my neck"
The title of the second post reads:    "Better picture of xray I hope"

Both of these were posted on Apr 14, 2010 and are located near the top.
Could you please look at the photos and let me know if you see anything I should be concerned about?  I am worried about the postion of the plates the doctor put in my neck.  I would really appreciate it.

Thank you  Patrick

Dear Patrick.
Cervical spine fusion is a very difficult surgery as there are many important structures around that region.
As a standard rule, X-Rays need to be seen on proper X-Ray viewer and needs to be co-related with the Clinical features (as in my previous post), in order to give a comment about what i think.
Since you have not yet mentioned about any of your symptoms, i presume that there are no problems present.
In that scenario, i would say that the treating doctor / operating surgeon has done a Marvelous  job.

Please let me know, if you want to know anything else.
Regards.

Dear Dr. Ghosh,

I had surgery on my neck Feb. 22, 2010.  On March 10, 2010 I had a follow up with my doctor and he had my neck x-rayed.  I took a picture of the xray with my camera and that is what I would like you to look at.  He implanted a plate to fuse the neck and I would like you to look at the pictures and let me know what you think.

Thank you.....Patrick

Dear Friend,
I will not have a look at these X-Rays, as i am not supposed to do that.
As these are sensitive issues and the treating doctor needs to  co-relate the same with the clinical features.
Please let me know, if you have some problems after the surgery, will guide you accordingly.
Regards..
