Hi
About 12 months ago I noticed a smallish (1cm) lump about an inch below my breast. It was softish, malleable and oval shaped - non-painful. Was seeing a gastroenterologist at the time for coeliacs who examined the lump and said it was a lipoma. GP also confirmed this. Now I have a lump within the breast on the same side, similar consistency (oval and reasonably hard but malleable) and am very worried. Am getting a mammogram on Monday, and the GP who referred me was confident that the lump did not have the usual characterisitics that would give cause for concern, but referred me for peace of mind. I have none of the risk factors associated with breast cancer - don't smoke, 37, had children, but am still very concerned. What is worrying me is that if the original lump were something sinister too much time has passed now, and my chances of getting a positive prognosis is unlikely. Any reassurance/guidance you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
Kind regards
