Thank you for your advice. I just made an appointment with my trusty Gyno to discuss the report and possible further action.
Dear emgscot: While fibroadenomas are more common in younger women, it is possible to develop a fibroadenoma at any age. In younger women, there is usually no reason to remove them as long as they are not causing problems and there is certainty that they are, in fact, fibroadenomas. In older women, they are often removed to be certain they are fibroadenomas. You may want to discuss with your doctor the possible explanations for the dimpling. Without evaluation, including review of the films and physical examination, it is not possible for us to speculate on possible causes. If you are concerned you may consider a second opinion from a breast specialist. These are often affiliated with large academic medical centers.
