Breast discomfort

I have breast discomfort in both breasts, particularly my right side.  I feel it almost all the time,(day and night)  it doesn't seem worse at any particular time in my cycle.  I am 36 years old and had a mamogram a year ago and again in July this year.  At that time I also had a sonogram on my right side and a chest x ray all of which showed nothing to be concerned about.  I have also had 2 doctors do a breast exam and found nothing abnormal.  I rarely have caffine, ocassionally ice tea and a few sips of my husband's coke that is about it.  I am just wondering if a cat scan is what I should consider next or if I should wait it out.  (I've been experiencing this for over 3 months now.)  My internest says I'm in good health, no weight loss, good appetite etc.  No obvious signs of anything being wrong. Any suggestions??

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Dear Christigus:  Breast discomfort is extremely common.  There are many possible explanations.   Most breast cancer is not painful.  CT scans are not generally used to image breast tissue.  You might consider a medical breast specialist (often affiliated with large academic medical centers) to discuss possible explanations for the pain and whether there are options for treatment.
