calcification in left breast

Hi. I am 39, premenopausal. I just had a stereostatic (spell?) biopsy on my left breast on March 23 for a calcification cluster. The doctor said most times, 85%, calcifications are benign. But I looked at my file and the results for my second mammogram say "results are highly suggestive of malignancy."

Do i have cancer? I currently have two aunts that are dying of it.

Microcalcifications is patterns or clusters are indicative of an underlying problem ..... Microcalcifications alone are normally present in breast tissue. You don't say but I would hope that your next step is to see a surgeon (preferably a breast specialist) as the biopsy certainly shouldn't be the end of it. Just take things one at a time and follow all recommendations. Best of Luck

Dear morgaine109:  In mammography reports, there is some standard language that describe findings and make recommendations.  Based on your report, that statement indicates that these calcifications have a suspicious pattern.  The bottom line is that further investigation is needed.  A biopsy is the only way to tell if these are benign or malignant.  You have done the right thing by doing the biopsy.  A suspicious mammogram does not always mean cancer - it means further investigation.
