possible recurrence?

Am entering third year out from diagnosis of Stage 2-lumpectomy, chemo and rad,on tamoxifen, no node involvement. 2 times in the last 5 weeks, I have had an extreme (copious) amount of blood in toilet after bowl movement (no straining involved)  My GP did rectal and found no hemmaroids/abnormalities. I had a clear colonoscopy just before being diagnosed with BC 2 yrs ago. Have appointment with my surgeon next week--GP said he may recommend barium enema (ugh) or another colonscopy.  Does BC recur in gastrointestinal tract?  If so, is it uncommon? If my surgeon feels it's nothing to worry about due to the recent clear colonoscopy, would it be adviseable to just wait and see? Thanks in advance for your responses!

Dear vermontgirl:  While nothing is impossible, breast cancer does not typically recur in the gastrointestinal tract.  You should consider seeing a gastroenterologist who can better sort through the reason for your bleeding.

Highly unlikely to be related to breast cancer. Hemorrhoids are the most likely diagnosis, even if not seen at the time of exam. But it's important to get an answer; your plan ought to get you there...
