PARP inhibitor AZD2281

Dear Doctor

My mother will eventually be going onto AZD2281, she is stage 4 and her previous chemos include, Carboplatin/ Taxol. Doxil/Gemzar/Avastin. I can't find much information about this drug and was hoping you could advise me of its benefits and if its given alone or will another chemo be used with it and how often should it be taken and any other relevant information.  Thanks!

Hi,
Olaparib or AZD2281 is a new research molecule. It is a PARP inhibitor, and has shown promising activity in mouse models, and also in early human trials.
