conversion or fits

Hello sir, this is Manali Patki from India. I have read little bit about you and your work in university of leicester. I have few questions and doubt. A relative of mine named Sakshi Gothoskar who is 8yrs old suffers from conversion disorder or fits. Actually me being an animation student hardly know about conversions. As per other local doctors, she doesn't fall in down syndrome nor in mentally retarded criteria. Its basically that she is under treatment from past 5-6 yrs but seem no relative change in her. Her brain doesn't give or take any instructions, hardly she emotes happiness but very rarely. Now its like her kidneys are also failing. So basically i would like to know how else can she be treated or is there any remedy for her?

Conversion disorder is achild so young would be very unusual and on the face of it I have to say that such a diagnosis is very questionable. While your description does not include sufficient details to comment in any specific fashion, your data invite more of a medical (including neurological) condition that a psychological condition. Thus, more by way of medical workups, not psychological evalaution, is warranted.
