What should he be eating?

My son is 27 months old and is the pickiest eater.  He doesn't even have to try something to know he doesn't like it.  Is there any sort of trick to getting them to eat healthy thing but he basically eats the same thing over and over.  He'll eat canned pears, PB&J, apples, cereal, waffles, pancakes, ramen noodles and basically anything that is frozen or fried.  I try to feed him healthy stuff but like i said he won't even let it get near his mouth.

Hi. Folloeing what the Nutritionist was saying, my sons love their vitamins and ask for them everyday. there are many different kinds, the ones they have loved the most are the Gummy Bears brand. They have a muktivitamin and one of only Vitamin C and Echinnacea. the latter one works wonder everytime they start to get a little sick, i give them 3 each day of those for 3-5 days and they never get the cold!! It's awesome. good luck! Sometimes when you hold a little in juices and other snacks and only give them water for a few hours they can't do anythig but try what you have to offer cause' they are sooooo hungry by then. Good Luck, been there 3 times, glad is over!

This age is hard and children do become picky. You are not alone. Mealtimes can be a battlefield when children do not have an interest to eating or eat very little. It becomes the battle of the wits between the child and the parents. Meals need to be joyous for you and your child. If he will not eat a certain food, do not make a fuss over it. Let it go and enjoy your meal. Engage your son with preparation of food. Have him help you set the table or do something for the meal. Children love to be a part of making food. Make milkshakes. All it takes is milk or soymilk, ice cream and some banana (any fruit). Whip it up in a blender and you have a drink packed with protein and calories. You can put pureed carrots in it too (without him seeing it) and he will not know the difference. If he accepts the milkshakes he will be getting more nutrients then he is eating now and hopefully he will enjoy making it too. I also suggest a children’s chewable daily multi-vitamin for vitamins and minerals he is not consuming due to his present diet choices. Thank you for your question.
