I'm sorry, I meant the other way. My doctor says its supposed to go toward the shorter leg, but mine went toward the longer leg. That is what I tried to say.
I'd have to see the films to give an assessment of what I think is happening.
I'm unaware of any "rule" that says the spine shifts to the same side as a sort leg. The fact is, our spines are designed to compensate -- this can happen in a variety of different ways.
As a general rule of thumb, however, I'm not a fan of heel lifts. I think they're beneficial when a congenital structural deficit is evident, but functionally speaking, I do not believe they're of long-term/corrective value.
