15-year-old dog beginning stages, need help what food to feed.

Hello to all.
I'm so happy i found this site, I have a 5 lb. 15 years old dog, who has never had any sickness. Healthy little one I would say. I noticed she was not eating as much as usual also loosing just a bit of weight, her coat every time I would give her a bath the next day, she looked oily. I thought that was strange. so, with all that going on I took her to the vet for blood tests. Now she is blind with cataracts, also she has very little to no hearing.
bloodwork came back the next day and Vet stated that her values showed beginning stages of CKD, and it would be a good idea to put her on Kidney diet. Hills KD. that for a 15-year-old dog her bloodwork was actually very good.
She hates the Kidney diet and will not eat it. I have been assist feeding her with it.
I was reading in one post that beginning stages doesn't need to be on a restrictive diet. if that is true, what do I feed her, any suggestions would be appreciated.

On her bloodwork the only things that are high
BUN                                    44   REF 6-31

BUN/CREAT RATIO            31  REF  4 - 27

SODIUM                            159  REF  139 -154

PLATELET COUNT           427 REF  170 - 400

everything else is within range. any information would be greatly appreciated.
by her (not having to eat KD) and myself not having to assist feed her KD. that breaks my heart every time I have to do it
but she has to eat.
She is the sweetest little thing, and all I want to do is to at least make this easy for her. She deserves that after all the love, she has given to me for so many years.

Thank you
