Home Made Recipes for Kidney Failure Dogs

This article has taken a long time to devise, research and prepare ... but it's now available to the Group, I'm pleased to say. There are 10 recipes here, including two treat recipes. One word of caution ... if you have a dog that has pancreatitis, don't use these recipes, as they are high fat/meat content. Always check with your vet beforehand. I hope some of you find these ideas useful in the battle to get your dog to eat. If your dog is eating a manufactured renal diet without problems, I would stick with it, and then use home cooking if and when he/she starts refusing their regular food. As always, smaller meals every 2-4 hours is better than one or two large meals per day.

Another data sheet has been added, this one is for Fruit. This completes the Nutrition Data Sheets for referencing the ingredients for homemade diets of dogs with kidney disease. All available under the Blog section of www.tonyboothwriter.com

The Meat, Poultry and Fish Nutrition Data sheet is now available on my website under the BLOG section at www.tonyboothwriter.com

This one actually also has a calorie-count, which I will be adding to the Vegetable Data Sheet in a few days.

I have now added a useful Vegetable Nutrition Data file to my own website which should help owners work out which are the best vegetables to add to a home cooked diet regime for their kd dogs. You can access this document under the Blog section of my website at

www.tonyboothwriter.com

This is a PDF file, so you can also download it or print it to read or reference at your convenience.

In due course, I will also be adding a fruit and a meat nutrition data sheet too - and I intend breaking down the recipes I have mentioned in my first post, so owners will know what is in each one.
