This could be cystic fibrosis (CF) or another inherited lung disease. Your daughter should be checked for these. Being told that "her immune system was shot" is a powerful statement. You have a right to ask her doctor what he/she meant by this and what test results, if any, back up that statement.
You should definitely request consultation with a pediatric pulmonologist and at least resolve the issue of immunodeficiency.
She should also be checked for gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and the diagnosis of chronic sinusitis ruled out.
I'm glad to hear the doctor gave you some good advice from this forum. Ask a lot of questions from your daughters doctor. He said such a strong statement and didn't explain enough to you. My prayers are with you and your baby please post again for updates on her.
Take care sweetie, you have a lot on you...I hope you are getting rest and some help from your family members.

my daughter was born with sever reflux but we didnt know it, till they had to re admit her back into the hospital 2 days after going home.. she always had a runny nose , cough with flem, breathing had gergeling sound, well they did a ph probe on her and it was the severity of the reflux that was causing her to have probs... she was refluxing so bad that what we thought was cold symptoms was stomach acids coming that high up when she would reflux , and she was asperating a little at a time into her lungs also... but i wouldn't rule out cystic fibrosis either... but the reflux would be something to look into.. the ph probe is painless , and it only last 24 hours... good luck hun and god bless
i would definitely have her checked for cystic fibrosis, especially if there is no relief to the symptoms. i know of someone who's children had chronic coughs and they weren't diagnoses until they were 10 and 15 yrs of age. do this before any permanent lung damage
take care
