my question is, obv do i have a serious health condition like emphysema?

I began smoking marijuana heavily (every day 2-3 times) from 2002-2003, and on and off until recently. i also smoke cigarrettes heavily for last 5 years (1/2 - 1 pack a day)

about 4 years ago, I wake up one morning with a sharp chest pain that would intensify in different positions.  for example, if i tried doing a sit up, it would hurt more.  the reason i didnt get it check out was because it went away, and i was very busy with college and my job as a poker player (quite stressful job).

For the last 4 years, this pain came and went at times, and for the last 3 years it persisted a lot more, and one day after twisting my body and chest, i heard a clicking sound and feeling in my chest (similar to the cracking of a knuckle) and the pain/discomfort would be eliminated temporarily.

somethings to note-
-23 years old, turning 24 in august
-recently quit smoking marijuana and cigarettes for about a month (cold turkey)!
-been coughing up mucus particularly during/after excercise.  but when i experience the discomfort in my chest area, usually i can stretch my chest and hear that clicking sound/feeling and the chest discomfort/pain goes away temporarily
-i have had bronchitis 2-3 times in the past.
-i have gotten quite overweight (5'9, 185lbs) in last 4 years from bad lifestyle, obviously now i just started to change lifestyle, and i feel much better then before.

my question is, do i have a serious health condition like emphysema?  and what is that clicking sound in my chest that takes away the discomfort in my chest (been happening on and off for last 2-3 years).

i will see a doctor soon but can't for the next several weeks because i will not have health insurance until than.

Please advise for now

I was just diagnosed with bronchitis. I wanted to know if it is contagious as I live with my fiance and am concerned about him getting it. we have not gotten close or kissed since this has started, but we are still concerned.

You have made some positive decisions and changes in your life.  The next one will be to see a physician.  It is difficult to explain what you are describing without a good physical examination and possibly a chest x-ray.  Emphysema is possible, but highly unlikely.
