colonoscopy question

i just got back from having a colonoscopy done and the findings came back as follows
the perianal and digital rectal examinations were normal a diffuse area of mildly inflamed mucosa was found in the sigmoid colon and in the descending colon.

they took three pictures which showed the inflamed mucosa in the sigmoid colon and in the descending colon. the doctor really did not tell me anything when i woke up. any help on what this means

no the doctor did not do one. his reasoning was that the imflamation was due to the colyte prep that he had me use. i personally dont think that to be true. one problem i am having with everything is that i am in the military and all the doctors i have gone to see have are involved or have been involved with the military and know that if i get diagnosed with Colitis or Chrones that i would be med boarded out becasue of it. i have asked the doctor to do a EGD to see if there is imflamation in my stomach and the rest of my intestines and he said that there is no evidence to warrant a EGD. In your words, and not thinking about the med board part of it all, do you think that the two Gastro doctors diagnoses of IBS is a correct one. if not what should i tell them and what other tests should i have done. what should i tell them to get them to do the EGD
