4 months ago I went to an Acupuncturist for a regualr, bi monthly, acupuncture treatment on my right shoulder. I've had a muscular ache in my shoulder for about 1 year and found that a treatment and shoulder massage every few months was an excellent remedy.
On this occasion the Practioner insisted that I have a Direct Non Scaring Moxibustion Treatment, which at that time i'd never heard about.
The treatment involved the practioneer burning around 50, 10mm cones of Moxa on my neck, spine and shoulder.
During the treatment I complained to the Practioner that I could feel an intense tingling sensation and some pain in both arms and the left side of my face. The Practioner insisted the treament needed to be finished as they had to treat all the ACU points in that area.
Because of trust in the Practioner and as I practice mindfullness mediation I was able to work through the tingling and pain so i allowed the treatment to continue. In total it took around 2 hours to complete.
The tingling took 2 days to disappear but I've been left with constant strong pins and needles in both arms, left face cheek and my right foot.
When I asked the Practioner a week later about this they told me, it was Diabetes then a vitamin B12 deficiency.
Since then my right arm has become very weak, I can only just lift a cup of tea
I've had blood tests for both of these plus numerous other possibilities, an X-Ray on my shoulder and neck has found nothing unusual for a 54 year old male.
Could a Direct Non Scaring Moxibustion Treatment on the neck, spine and shoulder have caused these problems?
Thank you for your response.
Best Wishes to everyone.
