Although, I believe the same with informed consent, personally I feel that myself as a parent needs to immunize my child to my best ability. Would I want guardasil for my baby? No. I think at the age where she/he is able to make decisions to be sexually active they can also make that decision for themselves.

I'm a Registered Nurse, and the only information I've received about vaccines is the tip of the iceberg what I learned in school. I do know that there is a risk to everything we do, everything we put in our mouth, and some have higher risks than others. But some turn their backs on things we even have known are harmful for half a century (smoking anyone?). There will always be people that are willing to take that risk of taking Guardasil (like those that have high percentages of cervical cancer in their families) and there will be people that will turn their blind eye to what could happen. Part of having informed consent is knowing the negative effects of what can happen, and you're right, they should be telling everyone the risks and pushing them as much as what it's good for. But everything causes death-- every single medication on the market has a death related to it. There is a website dedicated to the cause, actually. I feel its damned if you do and damned if you don't. As for the immunizations that are given in infancy and school years, I promote them; I would rather not take the risk of my child getting a disease that is irradicated in our country.

I wish that the vaccines could be pure and not have 'other stuff' in the vial with them. That's what really bugs me...

I hope this didn't come off angry sounding, because i had no intent. I really do respect everyone's decisions and/or opinions!!!

I can only speak for myself, but I support safer vaccinations and informed consents. I support the truth about vaccinations, so that everyone can make an informed decision. Spain actually banned Gardasil and yet here we are promoting it in the USA.... despite the fact that dozens have died as a result (Guillian Barre Syndrome) and many others have unexplained neurological symptoms similiar to GBS and/or CFIDS.

It is in the government's best interest and I suppose our own... to vaccinate ourselves and our children against certain diseases, but I've read research against multiple vaccinations and I am concerned about this. I am also very concerned about the Gardasil vaccination... with good reason.

So I support vaccinations for those people who are healthy enough to vaccinate. But I also know that vaccinations have killed and injured people. So I also support signing an informed consent and support research for SAFER vaccinations for everyone.

just out of curiosity, are you ladies in opposition to all vaccinations? or just guardasil alone (or any that you are unsure of the longterm side effects)?

I'm interested in this discussion. I have received my 3 vaccinations by choice this last year, and always like to hear everyone's point of views.

Whoops - didn't recognize the name Gardasil ----think diff trade name here in UK but yeah - like laura-----NFW for my girls!!  They were in the complete minority the day of the shot!

They tried to get me to have my 13 yr old daughter vaccinated with this...I said no way! Not now not ever!! They have no clue what the long term effects are either.
