Anal soreness post subtotal colectomy

I had a laproscopic subtotal colectomy due to colonic inertia and chronic constipation. I have anal and rectal soreness from going to the bathroom 6-8 times a day, Ive tried creams and wiping with baby wipes, but nothing seems to help, does anyone have any suggestions that have had a colectomy? Thanks

just had a subcolectomy November, after 2 weeks in the hospital for complication I'm home. I was told by my surgeon bulking agents(I put benefiber In my coffee) I'm eating anything and it is all trial and error, but very little diarrhea. I have 3-5 bm's a day , loose to somewhat formed depending on what I eat, also take probiotics, eating yogurt tears me up .hope that helps!!   in the hospital it was pure liquid and I thought "oh no is this what it us going to be like?" it gets better, watch your diet.good luck

Hi, I'm going to have a laparacopy subtotal colectomy in March and I am really scared. Can you tell me what to expect during the month after surgery. After how long do things go back to normal, meaning when will I go to the toilet less often?

everytime you have a bowel movement you need to put some sort of barrier cream on sudocream is a good one or creams that help babies nappy rash are good i wouldnt recomend baby wipes they can make you sore you will get used to it and soon going 8 times will just seem like normal to you your body will adjust in time and the soreness will go and you wont even need a barrier cream i go 15+ times a day and i dont get sore very often but do watch your diet as well as sometimes the food going in can hurt coming out

I am having my colon removed dec. 16.  My doctor did mention that there were creams he would prescribe for me.  If I get some answers I will let you know after the surgery.
