can colitis make your feet swell
When my protein levels get down my ankles swell and hurt after standing an hour or so at work. The doctor says a low albumin count can cause the tissue to not function properly. I solved the problem by buying compression socks and elivating my feet during breaks. After work I would ice my ankles and my fiancé would literally pull the fluid up my legs, releaving the painful swelling. As my protein levels grew, the problem gradually went away.
Growing up with Crohn's disease, on several occasions did one of my feet swell suddenly. I was taking prednisone at the time- so I don't know if that is what caused it or if it was actually a Crohn's thing... as odd as that sounds. But, nonetheless, this is something that happened from time to time. It always went away within 24hrs.
