Crohn's problems

I have recently been diagnosed with Crohn's. I have had problems with pain, nausea and vomiting for quite a while now (almost 3 years). I ended up having 2 sureries to try to help with it but they were unsuccessful. I was given prednisone with a recent flare up but that has proven unsuccessful also. Does anyone else have some of the same issues? If so how do you deal with it? What would be the best way for me to get through each day dealing with all these problems?

Thank you for your help.

If you are getting tired of taking meds with little or no results you may want to hear what I've learned. I have suffered with UC for 5 years and finnaly I found a totally natural product that can help you restore your body's proper function. I have proof that it works and I hope you both can help me share the news. If you like, please go to this link and search for "Ulcerative" then ask for the free info.

I was diagnosed with Crohn's ten years ago. none of the treatments helped except prednisone, which had bad side effect especialy on my bones. I tried remicade (every 8 wks), was good at first, then, I had a sever reaction(seizure), I also tried methorexate I vomited all the time as a side affect. Now I will go again on low dss of methorexate and humira, with other medications, So, I guss each body reacts in a different way to different medications. Good luck

You might ask your dr to prescribe one of the new anti-TNFa bioligic drugs or an immuno-suppressant such as methorexate or cyclosporin.  They are being used now when prednisone does not help. The anti-Tmuour necross factor drugs are:

Adalimumab (Humira_
Cetolizumab pegol (Cimzia
Natalizumab (Tysabril)
Infliximab (remicade)

I have been taking methotrexate ( one self injection weekly) for some 7 yrs and have never had a relapse.  30+ yrs of prednisone affected my bones significantly, and I now need a bisphosphotane durg, Alendronic Acid plus Calcichew/VitD to strengthen my bones.

Liz.
