I know I have something..have always struggled with constipation and gut pain...my father has UC and our daughter was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease in Jan-08 - not in remission yet - we are going through the whole medicine thing - still hasn't found the one that works yet....she has chronic constipation with her condition...and I just feel like **** sometimes...I can't afford to be sick....
I would think you would have had some sort of symptoms. I was surprised when I was diagnosed with Crohns because I didn't think I had the normal symptoms but I think I just got so used to ignoring my body that when I thought back to it I had been getting bad stomach pains off and on and some diarrhea. I never did get the blood in the stool or a big weight loss like some people do. I think my symptoms were more mild than some. It does vary from person to person depending on the severity of it. But I would think you would be having some sort of gastric upset.
I think the only way people are tipped off to possibly having Crohn's is because of certain symptoms. If you have been diagnosed with Crohn's in the past and are not experiencing any symptoms, you are probably in remission. Remember, Crohn's is not curable and does not 'go away' forever, however many sufferers go into periods where they are not bothered by symptoms and are in remission.
