Hi I have Crohn's as well, and I would certainly agree that certain kinds of dairy kill me whenever I have a flare up, mozzarella, milk, ice cream, etc. Others actually feel good and settle my stomach, such as a cream based sauce or brie. So, whenever I'm having a flare up I usually have to invest in that Rice Dream milk type stuff, eat sorbet or a popsical over ice cream...you get the idea. Crohn's definitely affects all parts of the digestion, and everyone's ability to intake dairy may be different, whether your daughter can have only certain types of dairy or none. Hopefully this helps.
Hello, I have Crohn's Disease and from my experiences, AVOID EVERYTHING WITH MILK. Crohn's is different for everyone and for me milk is a MAJOR problem. So to your question, is there a connection between dairy and Crohn's, the answer is yes.
I would also agree that staying away from dairy is best. Before I got my disease under control I lived on baby food for a year because it was the only thing easiest enough for me to digest. It mat take a while to figure out what things your daughter can and can't have, sometimes keeping a journal of what foods u can and can't tolerate helps.
