without films, study models, your history, etc-- it is not possible to advise you over the internet. if you are not crystal clear and confident with your dentist, get another opinion. part of your dentist's responsibility to you is to make sure you are clear. if he cannot do that, there is a problem.
My orthodontist understood the crown part....the crown is to go on #20....but #19 is pressed so tightly against it that he wouldn't be able to get the crown there...so he wants my orthodontist to nudge 18 and 19 back enough for him to get the crown on....that part I get
the part that was more confusing to me was the root from 7 being so crooked that its touching the root from 8 and whether or not that leaves problems for those teeth down the line.
I should have been more specific...the crown are is lower left...the two teeth with the wierd roots are upper right...two separate issues.
am also a dentist nd do not understand. what i can infer is that YOU do not understand, or you would not have posted. firstly, it was a communication between two doctors, so it was not meant for you to understand it. secondly, now that you read it and have questions, you should ask them of your dentist. Ask for a complete explanation, including risks, benefits, and alternatives, of his plan for your teeth. do not proceed till you are fully clear. getting an opinion fom this website may be helpful, but may also add to your confusion because it is new opinion and we cannot see you, your films or your dentasl history.
I am not sure I understand why they are making room for a crown--which tooth? Is it a space issue? The root proximity would not come into play unless they needed to make a space between the roots. Forgive me but I am not getting enough information to give you an opinion.
