Options for a temporary replacement tooth

My son is 7 1/2yrs old and had an unfortunate accident in which he knocked out a top middle permanent tooth that was not replaceable.  So, I am now trying to find out my options for a temporary tooth since he is too young for an implant.  He is an adorable boy and I want to find out what is the best option for him that he will feel confident with when he is older.

Here's a quick FAQ from the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry in regards to the denture/appliance I was referring to.  Its referred to as a space maintainer.

I would consult with your dentist or a pediatric dentist in regards to your options.

I would probably recommend fabricating a denture or an appliance that replaces the front tooth esthetic.  This would have to be replaced in the coming years until he's fully grown and able to place an implant.  I don't personally place implants but I'm guessing around age 18 would be the time they would place it.  Meanwhile, he'll continue to grow and adjustments will be made over the years.
